Firefox 3 is the Ugliest Browser Yet

It's a bit trite for a blog post, but seriously, Firefox 2 looked way better than 3 on Windows. If you customize the toolbar (via right click) to use "small icons", its marginally better, but people actually spent time working on the design of this UI, so I shouldn't have to fix it for them. Everyone would have been much better off with the third party Firefox 1.x theme Charamel.

I haven't used the Mac version yet, but it appears to have the same heinous icon problems. Look at Safari and try again please.

Aesthetic issues aside (I actually think it looks okay) -- the Awesomebar.

Oh mans, the Awesomebar.

Being quicker and more stable, with the new memory manager, that's pretty okay too :)

Yes! I'm very happy with the speed improvements. Previous betas were too unstable for me to appreciate their speed. Firefox is showing notable improvements in apps like Gmail, where I have previously gone out of my way to use Safari/WebKit (now with more wildlife)

I haven't used any new features, tho... do you have any favorites?

Oh, I didn't realize that "awesomebar" was a technical term (I thought it was just random word modification). I actually don't like the changes to the location bar very much, other than that autocomplete updates very quickly. It now includes many different things, which makes for a lot of noise. Maybe it's a feature that will grow on me, only time will tell.

Personally, I'm quite happy with FF3 for the speedups...

And the awesomebar is nice, it's great being about to autocomplete a URL by associating it with page title.
